Get to Know Me

And you are?
Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Nina! I would say my story is pretty similar to any other Genz-er nowadays, but there's always something that makes each person unique. Hopefully you can discover my uniqueness as you read my story and navigate your way through my work.
How did you get here?
That's a great question! During my childhood I was always watching crime shows with my family and from that influence I always thought I knew what I wanted to study in college. . . until I didn't. I thought studying criminal justice to understand why criminals behaved the way they did would cure my curiosity for life (bold assumption I know), but it was only after a change to my concentration of study and an entire undergraduate degree did I realize maybe that wasn't what I wanted to pursue as a career. "But Nina you would've been so good at it!", stop it I'm blushing 🤭, I know I would've been good at it, but the passion just wasn't there!
Fast forward to 2021 where I decided to reenroll in graduate school to pursue
a career in sports. If you're wondering how I went from criminal justice to sports,
well. . . we listen and we don't judge, this was quite a self discovery process. I grew
up playing soccer and founded and ran the first Women's Club Soccer team on
my campus with friends I met along the way. I have so much love for the sport
and had such a great experience managing that team I figured why not try a
career in sports. I ended up landing an internship at a USL club called Hartford
Athletic, which turned into my full time job, and had such a blast, but like all things it came to a bittersweet ending. I left Hartford when I was offered a position at MSG Networks where I currently work as a Production Coordinator on our sports betting shows and plethora of original content ranging from cultural tentpoles to working directly with the Knicks, Rangers, and their respective talent. From here, I knew that if I wanted to grow and learn it was up to me to ask questions, be resourceful, and teach myself what I didn't have time for at work.
Ok so what exactly DO you do?
A little bit of everything if I'm being honest with you. I love the arts, media, pop culture, social media, with a sprinkle of sports. I also love taking pictures and using media to express myself and the stories of others. With those two things combined, you get. . . whatever I do now (I never said the self discovery stopped, I'm still young you know 🤷🏻♀️). I would say this portfolio is a highlight of what I would like to be doing more of which would be tapping into my creativity in different spaces. Everything that led me to this point has shaped me into who I am and taught me that experiences and knowledge you accumulate along the journey is something you own and no one can take away from you. I'm not exactly sure where I want to go with this path, but I know it makes me happy enough to keep figuring it out.
